Star Crushed Minerals’ Neptune Star

Star Crushed Minerals’ Neptune Star

This green is very vivid!! It almost looks like it's glowing. Star Crushed Minerals has yielded some strong “hits” as well as some “misses”, and this color is definitely a winner. It reminds me of Stila's Emerald Smudge Stick eyeliner. I think that extremely cool and extremely warm-toned people might...

I love this polish! When I originally saw the collection promo pics, I was not super-impressed. But then I started seeing swatches. It looked attractive, subtle, elegant, refined, with just a bit of an edge. The color applied is a little bit softer than it appears in the bottle -...

Straightfoward almost-hot-pink creme with very solid application. I can get away with a single coat, if I apply the polish a little heavier…but personally I prefer to apply two thinner coats of a given polish than apply one, and worry about imprinting the surface of a not-yet-thoroughly-dry manicure.

Stila’s Color Outside the Lines Smudge Stick Eyeliner kit

Stila’s Color Outside the Lines Smudge Stick Eyeliner kit

Can I tell you how much I love these liners? So the chance to get five of them - three which were not previously released, and which weren’t added to the lineup later - was a great value. The colors were a mixture, too, of the standard dark-definition and...

Three nicely complementary shades - two on the warmer side of things, but not so warm that cool-toned folks have trouble wearing them. You save a bit by buying the sample set, so even if you’re unsure of one of the colors…get the set. (DOOOO EEEEEET.) Aurora drew...

A great neutral shade, a soft taupe-ish brown that's neither too ashy nor too gold…but the finish is a very reflective pearl that can almost hide the color. I've been happiest when I use this as a blending shade or an edge-color. If the shadow matches your skintone or...

Yellow eyeshadows and cool-toned people are an interesting mix. Honey-mustard yellows like this one are an especial challenge for me to wear well…but it is possible. (And honey-mustard yellows look better on me than pure mustard-yellows. Go figure.) This shade also has gold and pink scattered shimmer, which adds...

I'll freely admit, this shadow wasn't one of my first choices. Once I swatched a sample, though, I had to add it to my makeup drawer. It's a really great neutral-with-a-twist. It's not quite orange, not really brown, the metallic finish helps it brighten up the eye while the brown-orange-gold...

Star Crushed Minerals’ Ruby Red

Star Crushed Minerals’ Ruby Red

I don't know that I'd call this red, “ruby” red. It's a darker color, deeper and cooler than brick. It's definitely a darker red. It's dark enough that it can be worn by just about anyone - regardless of skintone or surrounding colors - and it won't make the eye...

As part of the redesign, I found that I needed to tweak my image dividing and watermarking. I spent time messing with that, got it looking the way I want it (check the Midnight Clear collection write-up for an example of the new image styles)...and now am going to...
