Milani’s HD

Milani’s HD

This and 3D (the gold holographic) were the first colors I bought from Milani's holographic collection. The holographic effects are more scattered - similar to the China Glaze Kaleidescope collection holos - and this one is a near-exact duplicate of Sexagon. The polish applies evenly, no bald spots, and I get full opacity after 3 coats. (I used two coats in these photos - and you can see the VNL on the index finger.) I advise using three separate coats, instead...

BareMinerals’ buxom Acapulco

BareMinerals’ buxom Acapulco

In some lights this color looks cooler than it appears on my lips. I actually didn't think I'd like this color, but it's become one of my favorites. Application is easy and clean, same as for all the Buxom Lip Sticks. In full sun you get much more of a sense of “lilac” than you do under a daybulb, but for whatever reason - maybe because I look good in cooler shades of lipstick and blush - it doesn't look “...

A very soft shade, but since it's one of the matte lip tints it doesn't disappear quickly. For a while, this color was also available in a three-color kit called The Romantics (which is now gone - sadly, as the kits are one of the more cost-effective ways to get these lip pencils.)

    BBAC 2011: Day Twenty-Four

Celine has a pretty beige-gold base, with a pink duochrome sheen. The base color is almost a sepiatoned gold, kind of reminiscent of what I imagine might be used in 1920s-style Hollywood couture gowns. The duochrome sheen is a sheer softened magenta that looks really good with my skintone and eye color. I hit the good-fortune jackpot with this one. My last interview look consisted of UDPP, Celine, BE's Round The Clock eyeliner in 10pm (deep plum), Aromaleigh's Sweetheart blush,...

NYX Cosmetics’ Jumbo Eye Pencil in Horseradish

NYX Cosmetics’ Jumbo Eye Pencil in Horseradish

Some yellow tones to this green, but not so much that I have problems wearing it. This pencil applies smoothly and evenly (which I've found not to always be the case, for NYX metallic pencils) and gives a nice spring-ish color without being too bright. I've seen this particular color in most stores that give floorspace to NYX Cosmetics. (And, wonder of wonders, the in-store eye pencils are starting to turn up sealed with shrinkwrap!! The NYX folks must have...
