More blue and a little more intense than Bevin, a bit softer than Zuza (the sparkle-equivalent to this shade.) Application was very smooth, coverage was even, and the formula was very smooth.
If this color were any bluer, I might not have been quite as attracted to it. I like blues, I’m starting to develop an affection for cool and neutral greens; but blue-greens are still an odd and tricky area for me, when it comes to nail polish. I’m a bit more finicky about what colors I’ll wear. I’m not totally sure if that’s personal preference, or if it’s also because aqua-blues or blue-greens don’t look as good on my hands as straight greens or blues.

Okay, hands up: who else mentally named the two pinks in this collection “Blush” and “Bashful”?
Just me?
Okay then. And that ends today’s round of Spot the Subreference.
Shelby is another pink, a slightly softer pink…but it’s not a pastel or ballerina pink. A “punk ballerina,” perhaps. Just like Lara and Reagan, application was simple and fast. My nails were in need of a buffing, so there were some ridges; but the polish in my bottle of Shelby was just a little thicker than in either Lara or Reagan.

Almost a hot pink, but with a bit more depth to the color. I think one of the Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear shades might be similar - but if it’s the one I’m thinking about, it’s been discontinued. So yay, we have a replacement!! (I think I have a lipstick in this shade, too…hm. No wonder it was one of the first I chose from either of Zoya’s 2012 summer collections!)
The application was smooth and effortless, full even coverage in two coats. Kimber - the polish that’s supposed to be the sparkle-finish counterpart to this shade - is more of an orange-based red than Lara’s fuchsia-pink. The formula was excellent - not super-thick, not really thin. I can see using just about any of the polishes from the Beach collection for nail stamping, but Lara and Wednesday will both be very striking against dark backgrounds!
