CND’s Vinylux Lovely Quartz (329)

CND’s Vinylux Lovely Quartz (329)

I was really excited for this polish! It looked like it had some duochrome action going on, and it was a lighter polish. Turns out it’s just got a strong green pearl dutone, but that’s unique enough. I don’t love that it takes four coats to get full opacity, though!

Kiko Cosmetics’ Long Lasting Stick Shadow in Lavender (42)

Kiko Cosmetics’ Long Lasting Stick Shadow in Lavender (42)

This isn’t a matte lavender, but it’s close enough! This is a very pale color, almost a lavender-white. It’s a little thin in some places, so I don’t know that it would appear the same on deeper skintones. It isn’t one of the first colors I picked (I think I actually picked it up during a sale at Kiko just because it was one of the few Stick Shadow colors that I didn’t have...

LA Colors’ Paranoia

LA Colors’ Paranoia

There isn’t as much colorshift in this as in some of the others, and no duotone whatsoever. At the furthest angles of the curves, you can see a bit of yellow. This requires four coats and is nearly opaque, but this is one of the few colors from this collection that I wish I’d just skipped.

Aromaleigh v2.1’s Matte Saga Four collection

Aromaleigh v2.1’s Matte Saga Four collection

The fourth and fifth chapters in the Norse Matte Saga were released at the same time, around two weeks after the third chapter debuted. These colors aren’t precisely pastels, but they’re not as rich as expected from the vendor photos. I was hoping that Alfrodul would be just a little heavier; and in truth, many of the shades appear a bit softened once they’ve been foiled and allowed to cure.

BareMinerals’ Buxom Strike Gold Plumping Lip Gloss

These are all older shades, and so I’ve had them for a while. This is a pretty good set to get if you want to try out the different product formulas. The mini Plumplines even have the full-sized brush on the ends of the pencils - and in my personal opinion, that’s the one of the more unique and valuable things in Buxom’s lineup. Most of the colors are softer neutrals, though Gabby and Sarina are both...

Notoriously Morbid’s Desire

Notoriously Morbid’s Desire

The warm-spectrum multichrome from Notoriously Morbid. It’s much the same as the red-orange-gold multichrome from most other indie vendors, right down to its mind crankiness when mixing with water. The dry application is perhaps less dramatic than the foiled; but it does shift colors at different light angles (and is perhaps a bit easier to work with!)

A lovely, interesting periwinkle-purple shade with fairly good coverage. Since this is an unblended colorant, it has no ingredients to help with blendability or longevity. You’ll get best results if you stipple instead of trying to sweep it onto your lid; and you’ll want to use an eye primer even if you normally don’t need one.

Colourpop’s BFF Mascara in Wine o’Clock

Colourpop’s BFF Mascara in Wine o’Clock

Posted on Saturday, at

In true Colourpop fashion…this has been discontinued already, even though I bought it when it first came out and that was just a few months ago. I really liked how this mascara looked, and how it seemed to behave just a little bit better than some of the other BFF Mascaras. It wasn’t as thick, though its consistency meant that I got a little more on my lid than I would have wanted. Coverage of the individual lashes...
